Burberry AW10 in 3D
Fashionistas in Tokyo, Dubai, New York, L.A., and Paris gathered on Tuesday to witness a fashion (and techology) world first: Burberry streamed its AW 2010 women’s runway show live in 3D, becoming the first major fashion house to do so. In addition, they live-streamed the show on live.burberry.com, as well as some 70 other sites, including Sky News, CNN and The Times.
Opening Ceremony at Ace Hotel
Upping the cool factor of the already hip Ace Hotel, Opening Ceremony opened their second New York outpost on Valentine’s Day. The space will include a special collection of traveled minded-essentials, as well as seasonal offerings from designers such as Band of Outsiders, Proenza Schouler, Philip Lim and Alexander Wang. Along with the Project No. 8’s anti-souvenir shop, and hot-spot restaurant The Breslin, Opening Ceremony joins the Ace posse like the cherry on top.

UNIQLO x COLETTE
To tie-in with their highly anticipated first Paris store launch, UNIQLO comes to colette for a shop-in-shop this September with a sneak peak of their wares. The Japanese retailer will offer classics like UT tees, denim and of course cashmere. Act fast to get one of the limited edition knits embroidered with the message “From Tokyo to Colette”.

A.P.C Dover Street
Another new addition to the fashionable throes of London’s Dover Street, A.P.C has at last returned to English shores with a flagship store at 35a. The space, although small, is suitably simple but well-designed, just like the clothing aesthetic for which it is known and loved. Francophile clothing fans won’t be disappointed, especially with Breton stripes being at the forefront again this season.
Opening Ceremony – Tokyo
Finally, the end of August saw the hotly anticipated opening of NYC retailer Opening Ceremony in the heart of Tokyo’s Shibuya shopping district. They will feature the same quirky inventory from the likes of Alexander Wang, Boy by Band of Outsiders, D.A.P. Books, Other Music, Trash & Vaudeville, and The Row in a huge 50,000 square feet mega shop spanning over 8 floors - their largest to date.

London’s trendy Newburgh Quarter near Carnaby Street pops up on the Lower East Side, featuring 30 of cool Britannia’s best independent boutiques with wares otherwise unavailable this side of the pond. There’s cult homegrown labels, like Twenty8Twelve, Cowshed and Beyond the Valley residing from 20th August to 13th September at 186 Orchard Street, NYC. Check out a little slice of Toyko in LES’s Rivington Street. Founded by Moon Rhee, Dear was originally located in a smaller space on Clinton Street in the Lower East Side. Now in its larger incarnation, the boutique continues to sell its own line as well as mint condition vintage pieces from Japanese labels such as Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto. A second floor houses affordable antique home furnishings.

Prada ‘Waist Down’ Exhibition
Miuccia Prada’s travelling exhibition, Waist Down - The Skirt by Miuccia Prada, arrives in Korea on April 25, taking up residence in the malleable Transformer building in Seoul for the next month. The Transformer, designed by Rem Koolhaas, is a single structure with multiple purposes. Designed to be moved with each incarnation the building is covered with a soft outer skin and has four shapes inside, each of which will become the floor as the building moves and its uses evolve over the course of its five-month existence.

She brought the fashion world to a standstill back in the Seventies with the legendary Biba and now Barbara Hulanicki is set to do it all over again - this time with her very own capsule collection for Topshop. The collection comprises 30 pieces spanning beachwear, floaty dresses and sophisticated smock blouses.
Acne/Lanvin
This ongoing partnership made in design heaven between Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz and hip swedish lifestyle brand Acne hits stores in early 2009. Melding Lanvin’s couture roots with the rebellious workwear on which Acne was founded, the collection is fabricated entirely in denim (be it the finest from Japan and Italy).
